During a home visit to one of the students of our Scholarship Program Nethan’s mother came to visit us. Nethan is a seven months old baby. He has fever, diarrhea and an awkward cough. He does not have a good appetite either.
The pediatrician decided to make an X-ray and place a mantoux injection to test Nethan for tuberculosis. The mantoux test turned out to be positive, but the X-ray showed no abnormalities. Because of this the pediatrician decided to test all family members for tuberculosis. If one of them has tuberculosis, Nethan will get some tuberculosis medication.
The pediatrician has also given them information on proper nutrition. The costs of Nethan’s treatment are estimated at 50 euros.
