Melissa and her sister Vanessa have been bitten by a dog, which was most likely infected by rabies. The dog died two days later.
Melissa and Vanessa therefore needed anti rabies vaccinations. The rabies vaccination program consists of three injections, so together they needed six injections in total. Each one of them costs 1600 peso, which is almost half a month’s income for the family of Melissa and Vanessa. So the family could not afford it. With the help of the deputy mayor we got Vanessa’s vaccinations paid by the local government. Melissa’s vaccinations were donated by Sparrow.
The total cost of Melissa’s treatment is 95 euro’s.
